The new academic year started with a bang!
Autumn Term kicked off with two days of visits in Redditch, Worcestershire, which was very exciting indeed. School sessions quickly followed in Blackpool, Chorley, St Helens and Preston. In total, I worked in-person with pupils in nineteen schools this term which was magical after the extreme challenges of Covid during the previous eighteen months.
Five of the school sessions were a collaboration with The National Literacy Trust and Blackpool Family Learning working with families in my hometown. I even squeezed in a guest speaker slot at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool as part of a launch event for a town-wide reading initiative.
A wonderful start to the new academic year. Time to rest and recharge ready to go again in 2022. Bring it on!
