Tuesday saw a visit to Singleton Primary to share Danger Zone with the KS2 pupils. It was an action-packed hour filled with secret sessions about the book, sneaky peeks at the illustrations during development and the storytelling waistcoat even made an appearance! A top visit. Thanks Mrs Millward for organising the session and the book signing.
Wednesday saw a double-header of visits. First up was a trip to Holy Family Catholic Primary. The pupils listened really well as I shared Eric’s latest adventure and one of the Tales. It’s always a joy to visit and this was no different. Thanks Mrs Moreton for setting the visit. After catching my breath, I headed to Strike Lane Primary for another author assembly – it was my third visit to the school. Yet again I had a top time and it was lovely to sign some books and chat more after the assembly. Thanks Mrs Kershaw for pulling the visit together.
Thursday featured a morning visit to Westminster Academy to celebrate World Book Day. I shared stories in assemblies with KS1 then KS2 before visiting both of the Year 6 classes to write with the pupils. It was a blur of a morning, but I loved every minute and the pupils were ace! Thanks Miss Langley for setting up the visit.
Friday morning saw a visit to Blackpool Sixth Form College. I studied for my A-levels at the college in the 90s so it was cool to return as a storyteller. I squeezed in a couple of Tales and an extract in a fast-paced hour. Some of the graphic design students were illustrating my Tales as I shared the – super cool! Thanks Miss Crowther for inviting me back.
The final event of the week saw a visit to Lytham CE Primary. I’d been to visit the previous week for writing sessions with Year 5 and 6 and it was great to pop back to share my writing adventure in assembly. Thanks must go to Miss Lord for organising both visits and promoting the signing. I really enjoyed my time in school.
