Three school visits all in my hometown of Blackpool happened within a week of each other.
First up was my third visit to Thames Primary Academy. It’s always fab to visit Thames to share a new book and this visit was no different. The pupils listened intently as I shared More Impossible Tales and groaned and grimaced in all the right places as I told them a particularly horrible Impossible Tale. A top morning!
The staff and pupils at Unity Academy always make me feel welcome during my visits. I thoroughly enjoyed sharing the new Tales in assembly and the children listened so well. Their reactions to the story were perfect and it was ace to hear laughter ringing around the hall.
Kincraig Primary is a school really close to where I live, so it was a quick trip to spend the afternoon with Year 3 – 6. It was my first visit so I had to squeeze the events from the last three years into 40 minutes. The session whizzed by and after lots of questions and a book signing, I headed home. Another cracking visit.
Thanks to Miss Hastings, Mr Farley and Mrs Simpson for organising the visits. It was fantastic to meet lots of local children and show that with loads of hard work, anything is possible.
