It had been a while since my last trip to east Lancashire, so it was great to return to two schools where I had previously enjoyed successful visits.
First up was a trip to Biercliffe Primary where I shared More Impossible Tales. The first session was with Year5/6 and was followed by Year3/4. The pupils in both sessions were fantastic and they remembered my last visit eighteen months ago, which was really cool. Lunchtime was taken up with a book signing session before I grabbed lunch and headed off to the next school.
Walverden Primary is a lovely school and I enjoyed two writing visits there in 2016. This time it was all about More Impossible Tales and I shared the book with the Key Stage 2 pupils. There were around 250 pupils in the hall but you could have heard a pin drop as I explained the writing and illustrative process involved in creating the book. It was a top session and the afternoon was rounded off with an after-school book signing session.
Two great sessions and thanks must go to Mr Blanchett and Miss Smith for organising the visits. Hopefully I’ll get to make the trip across the M65 next year to share Eric 2.
