Spring Term is always the busiest and this one didn’t disappoint!
National Storytelling Week and World Book Day fall in this term and along with other events and gigs make it a hectic few months. January started with three days in schools in Worcestershire before school events moved back up north to Blackpool, Leigh and Warrington, plus six library gigs for NSW across Wigan brought the first half-term to a close. Half-term break was for sleeping!
World Book Day half-term saw school visits in Warrington, Bolton, Poulton-le-Fylde, Lytham, Orrell, Preston, Leigh, Blackpool and Chorley. The half term ended with four visits to The Divine Mercy RC Primary in Rusholme, Manchester. Easter break was most welcome for a breather!
Other events this term included a public event at Golborne Library, Wigan where I collaborated with Wendy from Daresbury Laboratory for some scientific story action. My year-long ‘Writer in Residence’ role continued at St Matthews CE in Blackburn where we built the writing buzz in KS2.
I’ve posted a few pictures. Hopefully, they give a little taste of the story action. Thanks to everyone who booked me – your support is valued more than you’ll ever know. I loved all the opportunities to continue my literacy mission!
