There’s nothing like a quiet finish to the academic year and this term was definitely nothing like a quiet finish!!
School visits across the North West included stops in Lancaster, Blackpool, Wigan, Clitheroe and Cheadle to name but a few, plus a couple of road trips to schools in Cumbria. This all meant I clocked up the motorway miles. All in, I visited fifteen schools across the two half-terms, working with thousands of fab pupils.
Library events included sessions at Adlington, one of my local libraries, plus two trips to Oldham for the fantastic StoryFest. I stopped off at Darwen library for some story action and continued the science-storytelling partnership with Daresbury Laboratory at Leigh library. I really do love working with all these fab libraries and the wonderful staff.
It was also great to build links with the National Literacy Trust, delivering public sessions in my hometown, Blackpool as well as sessions at Marsh Green Primary in Wigan. The NLT do great things and it’s mega to be involved in what they’re doing.
It’s been yet another cracking academic year and my plan is to deliver some library sessions over the summer, plus some downtime, so I’m supercharged for academic year ’24-’25. To all those folk who have booked me and supported what I do – thank you! Your support is valued more than you’ll ever know.
