The pupils and staff at St Kentigern’s have been with me from the start of my writing adventure. One of my first author events was at the school, so it was especially exciting to return to share ‘More Impossible Tales’.
Every class managed to squeeze into the hall and it was a joy to share the new book. I explained how the story seeds developed into stories and showed the pupils the original artwork that Martin created for the title illustrations.
To finish the session, I put on the storytelling waistcoat and performed one of the new stories, ‘A Pat On The Head’. It’s a seriously disgusting story and to see the children covering their faces as I delved (not literally) into piles of cow poo made me smile! I love performing the Tales and this one in particular lends itself perfectly to an oral retelling.
I had a great time at St Kentigern’s and would like to thanks Mrs Wygladala for inviting me.
