After spending a year as the ‘Patron of Reading’ at Boundary it was lovely to return to work with Year 3.
The children were studying a range of characters from different stories during their literacy sessions. We started the workshop by discussing nasty characters including Voldermort and Miss Trunchbull.
The children were then introduced to an unpublished character I’m currently working on. He is called Bazza and is a particularly nasty character! The children highlighted anything they liked in my short extract.
After lots of discussion, the pupils built up a plan for their version of Bazza.
I wished the pupils well for their first drafts and my word they did a top job. I was passing the school a few days later and managed to pop back to hear some of the first drafts – I was very impressed! Well done Boundary Year 3 pupils.
I had a great time working with the children and would like to thank Miss Hooson and Miss James for inviting me back.
