Two author assemblies were squeezed into another busy week.
First up was a visit to St John’s CE Primary, Blackpool. It had been a year since I’d visited with More Impossible Tales, so it was lovely to return with the new book. The pupils listened really well as I explained how Eric’s new story came to life. They saw the illustrations from the early stages and even heard one of the Tales. Phew – what a fast-paced 40 minutes!
It was lovely to pop into Year 4 after the assembly. The children had used one of my stories to create their own versions. It was ace to listen to extracts and hear about the children’s ideas. I left feeling really proud that one of the Impossible Tales could help generate lots of fab writing opportunities.
The second assembly session was at Mayfield Primary, St Annes. This was my fourth visit to the school and it’s always great to return. The pupils were attentive, especially as it was a Friday afternoon session! The session finished with a book signing where I signed lots of copies of all four books for the pupils.
Two great visits and I’d like to thank Mrs Galloway and Mrs Phillips for organising the visits and the accompanying book signings.
