Over the last couple of years my writing adventure has taken me to many libraries across Lancashire. It was lovely to be invited along to share some stories as part of the Lancashire Reading Journey events. The children are challenged to complete lots of different activities over the summer, ranging from designing a book cover to attending a library event.
I had the pleasure of putting on the story waistcoat at Northfleet Library in Fleetwood, Poulton Library, Thornton Library, Cleveleys Library and Garstang Library. I shared stories from my first book, Impossible Tales as well as giving some sneaky peeks at a couple of stories from the recently released sequel, More Impossible Tales. The children who came along were fabulous and it was a pleasure to share the stories with them and their adults.
It was lovely to hold book signings at the end of the sessions. We also managed some photographs with some of the children – Eric Appleby even featured on some of them!
I would like to thank the staff at the libraries I visited for organising the sessions and promoting them so effectively. The attendance numbers were mind-blowing and seeing all those children made my heart sing.
